Open Source Mainframes, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation created to manage the development of software emulators for mainframe-class computing systems that run on commonly available hardware, and to make the results available to all, free of charge, under an Open Source license.

At present, our work centers on the Hercules emulator for IBM mainframe systems. Hercules is a robust, full-featured package that allows nearly any software written for an IBM mainframe computer to be run under Linux, Microsoft Windows, or Mac OS X.

Open Source Mainframes, Inc. is a non-profit corporation, with principal offices in Fairmont, Minnesota. We have applied for recognition as a charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code.
